MARGINALIA/ ARTS & CRAFTS PAVILION

TIERRA DEL SOL, Sun Valley-CA

This Pavilion was part of an initiative program for the Tierra del Sol Foundation. Produced during my 4th year of Architecture school. Woodbury University has held close ties with some it's local non-profits that have been in need for a creative solutions. This project was designed to provide the local campus and its' attendees a unique exhibition/work space. With the façade being used as mosaic of display cases, exhibiting some of the select pieces, which could be purchased, with proceeds going to charity.

The project is bridged to the facility's primary courtyard, providing easy access to the primary Art classrooms. The position and connectivity that the pavilion provides to other parts of the campus allowed it to function like a chamber of a heart, flowing it's attendees in and out of it's gallery/workspace to the it's multiple resting areas.

In spirit, the pavilion was designed to be a tranquil space, with it's façade acting as display shelves, with individual works of art nested in it's compartments, weaving between it's streamlined roofline enclosure.
