NEBULA HOTEL

New Zealand coast

This conceptual project was designed and envisioned in collaboration with Victoria Litvin. Inspired by Japanese traditional pottery repair method known as kintsugi and cosmic nebular gas formations, we wanted to create something timeless and iconic. More than a place of respite, but a destination that can only be accessed by sea or air. The hotel is geared towards the most financially fit, as it is intended to be the most exclusive piece of real estate in the world. With only a total of 50 uniquely configured units, the hotel is the ultimate luxury getaway. Think of it as a mega yacht with all the amenities and entertainment you can dream up, at the scale of a metropolitan block.

The mega structure's floor assembly is comprised of single and double height floors, varying and interlocking into each other like stacked tetris blocks. Slabs are entirely suspended by the wrapped exoskeletal structural assembly with the exception of the lobby/ foyer, which is designed to look like a sinuous cave. Intime and caressing yet lofty and ethereal.
