This conceptual project was designed and envisioned in collaboration with Victoria Litvin. This retreat getaway situated in the Kuril island in many ways pays a tribute to the erasure of the Japanese heritage and many temples that one stood in the Sakhalin Islands. Although this structure is a loose interpretation of the vernacular Japanese architecture, the intent was to create a sacred destination for spiritual respite, for both local and foreign visitors.
